    Position Summary:
    Seeking a BC/BE Advanced Practice Provider to join a progressive Women’s Health Department.  Provide acute care evaluation and medical treatment for obstetric and gynecological patients in a hospital setting. Full time position.  Mostly Days/Evenings, but occasional night shifts.  Full, comprehensive benefit package including retirement plans and liability insurance coverage.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Obtain complete, detailed and accurate patient histories, review patient records, perform physical exams, record all pertinent data to develop comprehensive medical status, diagnosis and clinical treatment plan for all assigned patients.
    Order appropriate laboratory diagnostic procedures, synthesize and interpret data to monitor and alter the management of patient treatment plans.
    Prescribe medication, write orders, perform procedures and respond to emergency and/or immediate condition changes of patients.
    Assist the supervising or attending physician with the delivery of services to neonates which include writing or dictating patient progress notes, issuing diagnostic orders, transcribing or executing specific orders at the direction of the physician.
    Provide for continuity between physician and medical team members over a 24 hour Period for patient care/treatment plans.
    Provide education, instruction, guidance and advise patients regarding medications and treatment, communicate with and counsel family members and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
    Provide guidance and teaching to ancillary personnel which may include mentoring and training to students of accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
    Utilize personal protection, work practice controls and safety guidelines to minimize and/or prevent occupational exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids and risk of prescribed patient treatment (i.e. radiation, toxic substances).
    Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere closely to disclosure on a need to know basis.
    Assist (1st or 2nd) in OB or GYN surgical procedures under direction of supervising physician.
    Round daily and write appropriate notes on all patients on service.
    Perform NST's and pre-surgical admission history and physicals for c-sections.
    Do post-operative checks and care of all post OB/GYN surgical patients.
    Assess laboring patients including fetal monitoring and cervical exams.
    Assist in deliveries under supervising physician and provide proper documentation on delivery.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or physician assistant school; completion of an approved Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program. One to two years’ experience preferred.

    Required Licensure / Certification Skills:
    Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the State Board of Medicine. Prescription licensure required.
    Certification from the National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners.
